ABOUT THE EVENT

A very special interactive percussion session led by education experts from The Music Workshop Company for everyone aged 4-12.

Young people will discover the infectious and adaptable nature of jazz exploring rhythm and groove, designed especially for the Watford Jazz Junction.

No experience is required – whether your young ones already play an instrument or want to explore music for the first time, come along and discover your inner jazz musician! All instruments will be supplied.

The workshop is fully interactive leading to a performance at the end of the session. The workshop will adapt to the participants giving the chance to solo for those feeling confident and the opportunity not to take centre stage for those who prefer to be part of the group.

Please let us know (by emailing jazzwatfordlive@gmail.com) if participants have learning or language needs so we can prepare suitable activities and support them to get the most out of the workshop.

The workshop will run from 10am-midday including a break and a final performance. Please arrive from 9.45am for a 10am start.

Participation will cost £15 per child. Parents are welcome to stay in the Theatre or in the foyer where coffee/tea will be available.

Everyone is welcome to attend the final performance at 11.45am, which will feature legendary jazz musician, Orphy Robinson, MBE.

This event is very kindly sponsored by Ronnie Scott's.
