Chris Newstead

Chris is the founder and festival director of the Watford Jazz Junction.

He is a long-time resident of Watford, and is committed to bringing quality live music to the town to be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

His career has focused on communications and supporting charitable and philanthropic organisations.

More about Chris

Chris regularly plays clarinet with The Ten Bells Rag Band, and has performed with many different bands, orchestras and choirs over the years.

He is a director of the Watford Jazz Junction alongside Alex Brooks, sharing a vision to connect musicians and audiences through inclusion and improving mental wellbeing for all, whilst focusing on the highest possible quality.

  • Trustee of the Music of Life Foundation

  • Creative Producer for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra
